ANZAC Commemoration Service

The Commemoration will commence at 2.30pm with a short Interdenominational Service conducted by the Reverend John Rutter, Rector of Glenavy Parish.  During the Service wreaths may be laid by Regimental Associations and individuals.

Following the Service, light refreshments will be served.

We are most pleased that a unique Pectoral Cross will be on display. Mr David Ratcliff will be telling the story of how his Great Uncle, Canon David Garland, whose family came from Co Monaghan, came to be awarded the Order of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre by the Greek Orthodox Church.   This was in the form of a gold cross containing "slivers of the True Cross” and was re-set as a pectoral cross by the community of Brisbane.

The Commemoration will conclude with a talk by the Lord Lieutenant for Co. Antrim, Mrs Joan Christie, CVO OBE on “The Lieutenancy and the Armed Forces”
